The Boulder is a traditional hiking sock that has exactly what you need: durability, comfort, and all-season versatility. Outer plaiting construction gives it durability and that classic hiker look while placing more body yarn next to the skin for improved wicking and insulation. Full-density padding along the instep and up the shaft makes it comfortable to wear with lace-up hiking boots. Last but perhaps most important, 100% American-grown merino wool provides excellent thermal regulation and natural resistance to bacteria and odor build-up.
Boulder NO FLY ZONE
All No Fly Zone socks are manufactured using yarns treated with permethrin insect repellent. Odorless and durable, permethrin repels common biting insects like mosquitoes, flies, chiggers, midges, ticks, and ants. And best of all, it doesn’t alter the amazing qualities of our 100% US-made merino wool. Wearing the No Fly Zone Boulder lowers your chances of getting bothersome bites – or worse, insect-borne diseases – on your next day hike or backpacking trip.
WHAT IS PERMETHRIN?
Permethrin is an insecticide in the pyrethroid family. Pyrethroids are synthetic chemicals that act like natural extracts from the chrysanthemum flower. Permethrin is used in a number of ways to control insects. Products containing permethrin may be used in public health mosquito control programs. They may be used on food and feed crops, on ornamental lawns, on livestock and pets, in structures and buildings, and on clothing. Permethrin may also be used in places where food is handled, such as restaurants. Permethrin was first registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) in 1979, and was re-registered in 2006.
WHERE CAN YOU FIND IT?
Products containing permethrin may be liquids, powders, dust, aerosol solutions, sprays, and treated clothing. Permethrin is used in cattle ear tags and flea collars, or in spot-on treatments for dogs. There are currently more than 1400 registered products containing permethrin. Some products are used to treat scabies and head lice on people. These products are drugs and are regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Traditional Lightweight Boot Sock
Our lightweight tactical boot sock pays homage to the California headquarters and training grounds of the elite U.S. Navy SEALs. Full-density padding runs only through the bottom of the foot and the back of the heel, making this our most breathable tactical sock. Made in the USA from American-sourced merino wool, the Coronado naturally resists bacterial buildup and wicks away sweat to deter odor and skin abrasions.
Heavy Weight Expedition Sock
Host to some of the harshest maritime conditions you’ll find anywhere, Kodiak Island in Alaska is a practical habitat for the U.S. Navy’s cold-weather survival training grounds. With full-density padding from top to toe and an extra-heavyweight, 100% US-made merino wool knit, the Kodiak tactical boot sock is built to protect those venturing into the coldest winter environments. Traditional outer plaiting construction positions most of the wool fibers next to skin for optimized insulation and effective moisture wicking.
Lightweight Technical Crew
We’ve adapted our most technically advanced hiking sock, the Damascus, to create a lightweight performance sock for law enforcement and the armed forces. Made with ultra soft 19.5 micron US merino wool on a 200 needle knitting machine, the Fayetteville provides the comfort of a thicker sock, but in a lightweight package. Its unique ventilation and targeted cushioning zones provide superior comfort while ensuring that your socks are the last thing you need to worry about while down range or protecting and serving your community.
